Just read it on the NDTV ticker. The vice-captain of the Indian Cricket Team, Yuvraj Singh, has been invited to Sunday’s Euro 2008 match between Switzerland and Portugal to present the man-of-the-match award.

Great news for Yuvraj! He seems to be going places these days. He captained his side well in the IPL and now he gets invited to one of the most prestigious soccer event in the world, the Euro 2008, as the chief guest for a game.

Thus, Yuvraj Singh will be India’s brand ambassador at the event. Good luck to you mate. But what still baffles me as to why he was chosen over the other greats, such as Sachin Tendulkar or the Captain M.S. Dhoni.

So India finally did it!! Against all odds, India finally managed to win the Twenty20 World Cup. Yes, a World Cup… that’s quite an achievement for our team. Sreesanth probably took the most memorable catch of his life. Harbhajan bowled one of the worst overs ever. Joginder Sharma was his normal crappy self as always. But we won.

The whole of Chandigarh celebrated. People dancing. Roads jammed… guys on roof of cars… dancing… the police failing miserably to control them. Rickshaw pullers, daily wagers on their bicycles… howling. Foreigners busy clicking pictures of kids sitting on the windows of their cars. TV reporters following insane fans on scooters. This was the scene in Chandigarh.

I don’t wish to write anymore. I have my exam tomorrow and I haven’t studied a word. I’ll leave you with a video of people celebrating inside (and outside) Café Coffee Day, Sector 35, Chandigarh. Truly amazing. Wonder what’s there in cricket that unites every Indian. Maybe it was the fact that we beat Pakistan!! JAI HIND!!

EDIT : Check out the condensation and water droplets falling from the AC vents. Might give you an idea of how hot (and crowded) it was in there!! Fun, nevertheless… better than watching at the stadium.

This is what I hear these days when I talk to my peers. Now you must be thinking how in the world is that possible? Does my ear decode the audio frequencies in some different way? No!

Don’t you get it, its just the accent. I still haven’t been able to find out from where do people these days pick up the British, American or even the Australian accent. I know for sure that they haven’t been abroad. Maybe they picked it up at the airport while simply interacting with some foreigner.

Come on! Big deal. You can’t speak in English fluently, you can’t pronounce some words correctly… big shit. You can still eat, breathe and shit. Yay! Why pretend? Why be a fake?

Why is everyone so obsessed with talking in English these days? OK, why is my blog not in Hindi? Ummm… don’t know! Back to the topic, why do people feel that they need to constantly blabber some words in a foreign language just to look hip? Does swearing in a foreign language not count as a swear? Is it somewhat more sophisticated to use the F word instead of BC or MC?

“Oh yes! Words like Fuck, Damn, Crap, Shit sound so ultra cool!! They make me look so chic. I easily blend in with the others. People want to talk to me then. If I talk in Hindi or if I abuse in Hindi or Punjabi, I’ll be treated like a outcast.”

Some of you may think I’m exaggerating. I’m not. I’ve seen people transform over the years, lose their own identity and individuality and turn into some sort of repulsive fakes. Just a few months ago, one of my friends left Chandigarh to study engineering in some different part of the country. He came back and there was a visible change. Some for the better but mainly for the worse. He too had turned into some sort of a fake. He kept telling me how he found Hindi movies and Hindi music so boring and that he would never touch anything except for English movies and music. It was amusing. I couldn’t laugh in his face but I chuckled inside. Here was a guy, standing in front of me, who a few months back would listen to the desiest punjabi tracks. And now, he pretended as if he’d heard nothing but Pink Floyd, Linkin Park etc. since birth. Wait a minute, Linkin Park didn’t even exist back then !

I switch on the TV and all I see are the celebs with their fake accents, the kids on reality shows with their fake hip attitudes. I go to a café or a restaurant and there they are again with their fake accents and fake attitudes. Or is it me? Maybe I am a low-life, a loser. What the fuck, I have the freedom to be me.

I am not saying that talking in English is bad. Its great. But pretending to be something or someone you aren’t is something I really don’t admire. Deep inside, everyone has the urge to shed that fake mask, the fake style and let loose, to just take their hands down and scratch their butts , to make mistakes and just not be the sophisticated, English blabbering freaks. But then, you got hundreds of wannabes who are willing to scratch your butt for you!! Way to go!

Stupid but still needed.

Some people have been jumping around claiming that I have a girlfriend.

I DON’T!!

I like a girl, I meet her at times but that doesn’t mean she’s my girlfriend!! What lame brains people have!!

Stop spreading rumours… she’s a very very very good friend… a real close pal. And she knows about my feelings for her. And if you want to continue spreading them… be my guest !! Haah… after all, I like that girl . Its just that I don’t want to make things awkward for her.

I hope the person in discussion reads this. Because I know you do… and that too for a very very very long time. You’re not too smart. And I don’t hide stuff. So stop talking crap.

So grand, so stylish, so ostentatious the cinematography and stunts are, but alas Dhoom 2 can be considered as the most dim-witted sequels in Bollywood this year. From the first scene where the dashing Hritik (Mr. A) makes his classy entry and steals the priceless crown of the Queen, somewhere mid way in a desert until the last scene where Mr. Jr. Bacchan says “The bar is open”, you just sit and wonder when your Paisa Wasool would happen. Mr. Sanjayji, when you can spend so much on the stunts and gadgets, have some time to sit and spend some buck for a good script. You just can’t use Dhoom 1 as a cash cow to make some profit from Dhoom 2, especially with such a disastrous story line.

Let me review this movie a bit differently. How about stars speaking themselves about the movie? Won’t that be fun? Let’s try doing it. Over to the star cast

Hritik:- I’m a clever thief Mr. A, who always love to steel priceless things around the world, though neither do I know nor does the director know what I do with those loot. I love to use futuristic sci-fi gadgets in all my operations, But please don’t sit and wonder where I get funded for it. Well the story of the movie is “Humnnnn……AAAAAAA…Actually it’s……..Humnnnnn……….Wait I’ll ask the director, probably he would be knowing it”

Abhishek:- Well I loved the movie, Coz Ash loved it. As far as my role goes, I’m a intelligent cop whose job is to stop Mr. A and arrest him. I have some super natural powers where in I can stay for hours together under water in a Water glider and then pop out of water from no where and kill all the Roughs. I also have to take care of my pregnant wife, Oh no, I’m not speaking of Ash, it’s too early to think of that, Rather I was speaking of Rimi sen who plays the role of exasperating spouse of mine in the movie.

Uday Chopra:- I’m a portraying a role of a assistant cop who is guaranteed to irk you with his deadly PJ’s and broken English. I have put every effort to act well, and I have faith that one day I’ll act like Sharukh Khan (The Interviewer Faints). Till then daddy please give me roles in your movies. Bolo Papaji Ki Jai.

Aishwarya:- So like I play the role of Sunaihri, a supposedly wise and ultra sexy thief to whom even a stud like Hritik can drool for. Like, I loved acting with Abhishek. Like I wear all this micro mini skirts, long enough to cover my overacting and short enough to avoid obstructing you guys perverted views. Like, you guys will forget your popcorn looking at my Ultra gorgeous 36-24-36 curves, just the way I forgot how to act, in this movie. Also I smooch in the movie along with Hrithik, to check out how much green Abhishek can get.

Bipasha:- Hi I’m Bipasha Basu. Bule tho Nahin Mujhe. Nobody has a clue what I’m doing in this movie. Even John Abraham is trying to figure it out, and in the process of finding it out he’s losing all his Hairs. My role in the movie is to wear a two piece (Bikini) and walk along the shores of Brazilian Sea, and make Uday dream of him having kids with me.

Well that was a exclusive interview by the star cast of Dhoom2 for IMDb.

Well on a serious note: the movie does try to introduce some good Hollywood stunt sequences in Indian Movies. But Holy cow, why do they have to exaggerate so much in every stunt sequence. With such an exaggeration none of the stunt sequence appears to be realistic. Also none of the songs except for the title track is worth hearing, and some songs are just a torture to sit and watch in a 70mm screen.

The only part of the movie that rocks and makes you still feel better after spending a hefty buck watching it at Multiplexes is the Ultra cool, the absolute stud Hritik with his remarkable acting and fantastic styles. Also for guys, it’s watching the elegant, beautiful, sexy Shetty Gal Aishwarya Rai in her Minis. Also the cinematography of the movie is grand and can be watch able. Apart from this I can’t think of the reason why you have to watch this movie in a theater.

So please Sanjayji, next time if you plan to come up with another sequel to Dhoom, don’t you make it such a disaster.

I was in demand yesterday!! Khanna messaged me and told me that he wanted to see me as soon as I got down from my college bus. A little later, Abhit messaged me and told me that he was coming over to my place, around the same Khanna wanted to see me, as he wanted to pick up his stuff and his money . And then, while I was returning from college, Sonia messaged me and asked me to get down at 35 and meet her. I was like what the…?!!?! Everybody wants to meet me today only?

I told her to wait and that I would come after meeting Abhit and Ankit. I got down from my bus and rushed towards my house. On the way, I saw Anjum. He stopped me and wanted to tell me something!!! I talked for like 30 seconds and then pushed forward. I reached my place, threw my books and began searching for Abhit’s stuff. Khanna was in sector 34 so it was fine now. Suddenly, Sunnel called up and told me that the guy who’s teaching us Maths wants to see us a little early around 6.30PM. I managed to convince Sunnel to convince the man. He did.

Abhit came and so did Anjum. Anjum bugged me a lot . Kamina… sometimes he ran off with the keys to Abhit’s bike and sometimes he started talking LOUDLY!! The plan was that Abhit and I would go to CCD – 35 where we would meet Sonia who was sitting there with two other friends. We set off. On the way, Sonia messaged me that she was leaving. I called her up and she told me that she was getting bored with the guy sitting with them and was going back but since I had started from my place, she would stay back. We reached sector 35 where Abhit suddenly told me that he didn’t want to meet Sonia . I convinced him and he agreed. We went inside CCD, where we met Sonia and her two friends. Aastha and the guy (sorry dude, I forgot your name) left (the guy was leaving so Aastha went to see him off). So now it was just Me, Abhit an Sonia. Suddenly Sonia asked Abhit if he was the same guy who refers to her as “bhabhi” on my blog. Abhit was so surprised and shocked that he couldn’t speak!! ROTFLMAO!!! Maybe he thought she didn’t read my blog. Abhit went outside to find his bike keys then. He returned and told me that he was gonna leave now . Hahahah… he seemed a little embarrassed. Now I know Abhit, you won’t agree but you were!! Abhit said bye to both of us and just as he was about to exit, Sonia requested him not to call her “bhabhi”. Abhit replied, “I’m sorry, I won’t” and left. So Abhit apologized… and I didn’t have to do a thing to make him stop! Lets see what he does now… I’m waiting for you to reply dude!!!

Last Sunday, i.e. the 12th of November, I went to meet Sonia a.k.a Squirrel a.k.a Tiny in sector 17. She was a lil upset and so was I. It was the perfect time to meet . As soon as she reached, we headed over to Hot Millions where we bought two cups of coffee. We then proceeded to sit somewhere around a tree behind the Bridge. By the time we reached there, the coffee had become cold. I like my hot beverage cold ( stupid, I know!!) but she threw it away. We were just sitting and chatting when one of Sonia’s cousins, yes, a real squirrel came close to Sonia, turned right, went to her coffee cup and started sipping merrily.

While Bahaar, Shrinkhla and Shikha were busy cutting and pasting, Nipeksh and I had a fun time playing football with a tennis ball we’d stolen . We even pasted a poster in the hall with my cell number on it but sadly no one called . Seems I’m highly unwanted .

I had my last sessional today. I’m gonna pass it. So, we took the bus from our college to Sector 35. Yuganshu (Honey), Sunnel and I, we went to Oven Fresh. We had our breakfast there. Now we decided to walk towards the Bus Stand (sector 17). We were near the Radio Station roundabout, when we saw THIS…. a golden haired freak… err… man!!! Amazing… what people do to look beautiful. THE GUY LOOKS CRAZY!!! I sneaked up behind him and clicked this photograpgh. Cheap thing to do but I couldn’t control myself.

And yeah… he was wearing a RED shirt inside with some muffler. Looked somewhat like Mithun Chakraborty!!
