When God closes one door does he really open another one?

Well, this is in context to a family friend of ours. Their son, Gaurav.
Smart, smooth talker, great sense of humour, lovely personality – basically everything you could ask for in a guy. But does the guy have it all? OK, he’s a little on the shorter side :P ! But there’s more.

When he was a kid, one of his kidney’s stopped working. No problem, he still had the other one. When he got a little older, say about 20-21 (and that’s not even old!!!), about the same age as I am right now, his second kidney failed. His dad had to give one of his kidney’s for the transplant. The family was totally devastated. Here was a guy, who had just seen a few years of his life, experienced nothing much and there he was lying on his death-bed. He recovered. But the medicines and all took a toll on his body. The steroids made his face swell up. But still, the boy, with a zeal to live never showed any signs of pain, never complained. Whenvever you looked at him, he would smile back. Every few minutes, he would crack a joke a make everybody laugh.

He still couldn’t eat everything. Oily food and all junk was banned. He virtually lived on boiled vegetables.

We thought the boy had seen it all. We thought God would not torment him anymore. We thought he would live the rest of his life happily. But what we think is not what always happens!

A few months ago, he went for his routine checkup. The doctors found out that the toxic levels in his body were way beyond the permissible ones. He was immediately admitted. Dialysis, injections & medicines followed. He’s still in the hospital. The doctors say the guy’s kidney is still not functioning properly.

What the…!! I don’t know what’s gonna happen but I sincerely pray to God – “Please, cure him of this pain!!”. He doesn’t deserve it. He is just 24!!!

But will God listen? Will he open another door?

Well, that’s for God to answer!!
