I find it rather amusing or should I say disturbing, that the Supreme Court of India, intervened an overturned an order of a Delhi HC Tribunal and placed a ban on The Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). Mind you, I am no supporter of SIMI and do not condone their activities. According to the recent evidence, they are a bunch of terrorists. But neither am I a supporter of hypocrisy.
If the SIMI can be banned, why cannot the same be done to the Shiv Sena, Bajrang Dal, Vishva Hindu Parishad, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena and the supporter of all the communal violence in our land, the Bhartiya Janta Party?
Are the people of India so naive? Are they blindfolded? Can’t they see what is happening around them? Why do they fail to realise that they are being “USED” as puppets! I’m talking to you, yes you! The one with a sword in his hand and wading through the Tavi river to cross into Jammu. Do you actually feel the BJP or any of the other parties urging you to risk your life give two fucking hoots about you? They don’t you jackass. Do you think you’ll get a piece of that land once it is transferred to the Amarnath Shrine Board? When you know the answer, why act so anti-social?
Jammu and Kashmir has been burning for the last 2 months – for no reason! The initial protests by the muslim youth were not carried out in support of the people whose land was being transferred (the entire land in question is not forest land). It was also instigated by the pro muslim parties with a lame excuse that the Amarnath board wants to settle Hindus in J & K. Seriously, are you guys retarded or what? To actually buy land in J & K and settle there you have to be a state subject, which the outside Hindus obviously would not have been. What is the fuss all about? And even if they do settle there, what is the fucking harm? Do they pose any threat to you?
In my opinion, there is no difference between the Islamic and the Hindu parties. They are a burdern on the society. They are a bunch of illiterate selfish fools who have an amazing knack of convincing people to murder each other for their cause. They are the real terrorists.
Recently there was a bunch of another assholes who wanted a seperate state of Gorkhaland within India. They caused bandhs and disrupted normalcy in the region. What is it that you guys seek? What will a seperate state give you? Oh I get it! You want reservations etc. etc. ! Did I hit some wrong nerve? OK, you wanna say that the state will give the Gorkhas their identity. Motherfuckers.. are we not all INDIANS.. is it not good enough as an Identity?
Another variety of dickheads that resides in our country is the Gujjars. They fought with the police, torched vehicles, got themselves killed.. for what? Reservation. This shows how dumb you people are. Seriously, if you keep acting this way, you will forever remain a backward caste. That’s because you just don’t want to grow. You choose to die for reservation but you choose not to die for free education.
Shiv Sena and MNS : I can only say that they must be banned. Their activities are against the country, it’s people and the constitution.
Finally, how can I forget our very own warriors, the Sikhs. You guys choose to clash with the Dera Sacha Sauda followers but have absolutely no interest in improving the situation in your state. The youth of Punjab are either addicts or jobless illiterate fools. But religion is more important to them than even their own well being.
I recently saw an advertisement for a a new political party – Jago Party. It claims to be a party of the people. I went over to their website and read through their objectives. The only reason I have decided to vote for them in any future election is that they are not being run by a family (I’m looking at you Congress) and are not trying to woo the voters on the basis of religion or caste (I’m looking at everybody else here).
Why is it that the people in our country identify themselves with religion and caste and why being Indian is secondary to them? Why is it that we “Indians” will go kill each other on the call of leaders of the Hurriyat or the BJP? Why have we all turned a blind eye towards reality? Why can’t we stop passing the buck? Why can’t we think on our own and follow what the corrupt politicians say? Why is it that all our top politicians are rapists and gangsters? Why is there no sense of belonging, a sense of being an Indian Citizen?

Well Rahul SIMI has been banned for alleged terrorist activities, whereas none of the organisations, with the probable exception of Bajrang Dal has ever been implicated in a terrorist activity (till now). I agree with you when you say that communal parties should be banned and this doesn’t merely include the BJP, but also our very own Shri Akali Dal (SAD). However, there is a thin line between what should be banned and what can be banned and parties like SAD and BJP have been able to show that they are not communal parties per se, thus avoiding a ban by the Election Commission. Furthermore, we being a democratic country, have the obligation not discouraging/banning communal parties, because ultimately their communal agenda is merely a point of view, though very absurd in my opinion, but it needs to be protected at all costs.
This is because the moment you gag the voices of groups you think support totalitarianism, you become totalitarian yourself.
I disagree with you when you call the people wanting the separate State of Gorkhaland “assholes”, as I believe that there demand is completely justified.
They have been oppressed by Bengali babus, who control them from Kolkata, without heeding to their voice or the business men who collude with the Babus and politicians to gain control of Gorkhaland’s indigenous businesses. The disruption of so-called normalcy was essential and important because, after all you need a explosion to make the deaf hear. (Bhagat Singh had said the same during his trial)
We are Indians, after all, but that does not mean that our identities are not separate and diverse, and homogenization of identities, into the Akhand Bharat identity is nothing but trying to make everyone adhere to “mainstream” culture and identity.
Furthermore, I think that the Gujjars demand was just, though there means were not entirely justified. They have been oppressed since Independence, whereas there fellow Meenas have been able to become a very strong group politically and otherwise, in Rajasthan, though they shared the same level of social and educational backwardness.
And,they are dying for free education as well, though it wouldn’t do them much good, as despite having qualified from the best “free” school they are able to afford, they would still not be able to get cutting edge higher education or jobs, as these “free” schools are not the elite public schools that you and me have been to. An ST status would ensure free education and other benefits for them in these government run schools.
The situation in Punjab is more of a clash between the Jat-Sikhs (most of whom are ardent followers of SAD) and the Dharmi Sikhs (previously backward caste Hindus who converted to Sikhism, but who weren’t given equal rights and have now increasingly become followers of Dera Sacha Sauda, which supports the Congress party actively). The clash is a merely a political gimmick and nothing else.

I think Rahul, the answer to your last paragraph is that we really aren’t one country, and we don’t share the same culture/values and we have multiple identities, out of which the identity of being an Indian is just one among many. They choose to follow
leaders who are rapists and murderers because you and me will never stand for elections or be approachable to them. They really don’t have an alternative. And you know what… we are responsible for it.
And I agree with you Yogesh when you say that Gorkhaland is a beautiful place. I’ve been there and I just loved it.
Who is a terrorist? One who utilizes the systematic use of violence and intimidation to achieve political objectives, while disguised as a civilian non-combatant (this is what Google tells me). Now, where does the difference lie between SIMI and the BJP etc. ? They might not have been implicated but their actions speak otherwise. I am in no way a supporter of SIMI but all I want to highlight is that such stupidity in our nation must stop. And banning these parties does not mean gagging them. They must be banned for what they are doing and ultimately trying to achieve. Who says they are trying to protect the interests of their respective communities except for the leaders? Is it not visible to the entire nation what they are doing and how the whole nation is suffering because of their actions? They are political parties, not governing bodies. They must not step out of their shoes.
And I disagree with you again. Demand for a seperate Gorkhaland is not only stupid but also unreasonable. Think logically. What did our previous leaders achieve in Jammu and Kashmir by migrating the Kashmiri pandits to Jammu? They have essentially created two seperate states within a state. One area is muslim dominated and the other is hindu dominated. You are seeing the results of dividing regions on such basis. Someone demands Gorkhland, others Khalistan. One wants Azad Kashmir whereas other wants Manipur. This is nonsense. Dividing states into smaller states does not mean they will cater to the needs of those people effectively. Prime examples are Uttrakhand and Jharkand whose areas are under worse conditions than what they were before. Disruption of normalcy is different. Why should others suffer losses for your own selfish causes? Are these Gorkhaland supporters willing to compensate for all the losses?
No one is trying to make others adhere to the mainstream. It is just about enlightenment. Why is there no sense of belonging to a nation? Why is there just a sense of belonging to a region and only foolish demands of seperation of these regions from the nation? Just like you said, we are all seperate and diverese but that does not mean we forget that we are Indians.
You must travel to Rajasthan, Haryana etc. and see the power that these Gujjars enjoy. They are not oppressed. Neither were the Meenas. Same is with the Bishnois. All these three groups enjoy reservations in the state of Rajasthan. All of them have got these for utilizing and exploiting this platform of reservations. The ones who need the reservations, will still not get them. Why? I fail to understand.
Your point regarding the Govt. schools etc. stands invalid. Free education is for all and not just for ST students. And it is only the Govt. schools or the so-called “free” schools who will provide it to them. Being an ST won’t help you there. I agree they lack infrastructure. But why don’t they demand it? If they are so concerned for their welfare and upliftment, why just focus on reservation and not on their basic right to quality education? If you can set the whole nation on fire for reservation, why not education?
The situation in Punjab is a staged political drama. That is what is sad. You are not here and you don’t see and here what the common man has to say about it. 70% of them want to kill the person of the other faith. Sad. They don’t care about education. There is no electricity in districts like Mohali and Patiala for 10-12 hours each day. Yet the people are more happy to talk about communal clashes rather than anything else.
And lastly, I disagree with you again. The fact that we think that being an Indian is one identity among the many that we have is wrong. Being an Indian must be on the top of the list. That is who we are and will forever remain. We are Indians and that is our primary identity. Every other identity is secondary.
And yes, we are responsible for our fate. But it doesn’t matter that you or me stands for elections or not. It will matter, when you, me and everybody else makes our government and politicians accountable for their actions rather than just following them blindly. It will matter, when the political parties know that the citizens of India are informed and not ignorant and they cannot take us for a ride. That is the way this system will be flushed clean. Us being a politician is not the only way, we have other alternatives as well.
