I usually don’t visit social networking websites much but I was quite surprised to land on the front page of Orkut.com and find the Orkut logo coloured in the colours of the India National Flag. Good thinking on the part of the Orkut team to connect to and engage a substantial number of users on their network. They even have a number of polls up for the users asking various questions about the 60 year old baby, who is still growing… growing stronger day-by-day!!
A similar gesture for Pakistan (Aug 14th) would have been appreciated too by the users from Pak I guess. I wonder why the Orkut team didn’t do it. It most definitely has to do with the userbase from both the countries. From what I know, Indians dominate this social network after the Brazillians.

Or maybe its coz “India has a higher status”
I have one question??
how do u manage to show this post in “Links to this post” on blogger??
R u using any specific plugin??
I am a wordpress blogger but my links never show up in any blogspot blogs “Links to this post” …
Shikhar –> Yes maybe… status depends on what you base it upon. Orkut bases it upon the number of users from a specific country and they know Orkut is far more popular than any other Social Network in India with people wasting countless hours on it.
Rahul –> Dude that’s really not a big deal. When you open the write new page in the wordpress administration panel, scroll down. There you will see some text called Trackbacks. Now open the blogger post. Just above “Links to this post” is a link called “Permalink”. Right click on it and copy the link location. Paste this link in the trackbacks field in the “Write Post” page in your dashboard. Wordpress should do this automatically though. I never have to do it manaully.
The front page is just for the Indian users i.e. IPs from India …
Yup! The front page only shows up for Indian users.
